Vintage Pro Stocker, Nitro Funny Car Match Races Highlight Charlotte Friday Night Drag Program!
This week's Goodguys Friday Night Drags, October 30th at the spectacular ZMAX Dragway will be highlighted by two special match races and a full afternoon/evening of vintage drag racing!
Peter Gallen's "Poverty Stricken" 5-second '74 Chevy Vegas will take on Steve Nichol's Mill Road Boys Camaro in a two race showdown. Joining the nitro burners will be a special Nostalgia Pro Stock match race featuring the Sox & Martin 1973 Plymouth Hemi Duster vs. Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins' 1975 outlaw match race Chevy Monza. Both cars are the original deal! The Sox & Martin Duster is owned and driven by "Hemi Fred" Ristagno and the Monza belongs to Tom Bryan. The Sox vs. Jenkins rivalry was legendary among Mopar and Chevy fans in the late sixties and early seventies!
In addition to the "under the lights" match race madness, five eliminator classes will be featured. Here's a closer look at the racing menu:
